About Constitution Day
Constitution Day, also known as “Samvidhan Divas,” is observed annually on November 26 to commemorate the adoption of the Indian Constitution. The Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India on November 26, 1949, and it went into effect on January 26, 1950.

Every year 26 November is celebrated as Samvidhan Diwas to commemorate the day the Constitution was ratified. This year, as part of the “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav“, the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs is inviting all to participate in the Quiz on Constitutional Democracy and get the Certificate Day Certificate).
Importance of commemorating Constitution Day
The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) will kick off the Constitution Day celebrations by hosting an online quiz competition for schoolchildren. Students will become familiar with the Preamble to the Constitution, Fundamental Rights, and Duties, Directive Principles of State Policy, etc. This quiz will familiarize pupils with the history of the creation of our Constitution and the prominent individuals involved. It will aid in the preparation of future generations who are committed to Constitutional values and will foster democratic principles. The quiz also encourages youngsters to engage in a variety of creative activities to comprehend the significance of Constitution Day.
